BIO
Laryssa Birdseye is an upcoming electro Pop singer based out of Portland, Oregon. For fans of the mainstream stylings of Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, or Taylor Swift, and the more lyrical sensibility of Phoebe Bridgers, Laryssa has solidified herself as one of the premiere powerhouse vocalists and burgeoning Pop stars of the Pacific Northwest.
As an independent artist with no label backing, Laryssa has an impressive touring history, playing multiple West coast tours ranging from Seattle, Washington to Tecate, Mexico. Recently, she has opened up for larger national acts like Shawn Mullins as a solo artist and for We Three on the main stage of Portland’s Rose Festival with her 4 piece pop band. A recent collaboration between Keary Kase and Laryssa charted in the top 10 of the iTunes Hip Hop charts, and she is steadily building a catalogue with some of Portland and LA’s top producers. Though Laryssa is best known on the West coast, she has been building a fan base in New York, even recording a live album at the iconic Rockwood Music Hall—a longstanding staple of New York’s rich and vibrant music scene.
Laryssa released her debut album, “So What”, in September 2017. The album’s 12 tracks were well-received by fans and critics alike, particularly the lead single, “Let Me Down”. Buzz LA said, “The production, songwriting and singing … rival that on any major-label release.” She followed up with “Press Play”, a six-track EP released in October 2019. That project was anchored by her lead single, “Never Have Children”. Her fourth major release was her full length “Chrysalis” LP, released in September 2023rd, and has garnered more than 111,000 Spotify streams.
Laryssa’s capability as an instrumentalist, songwriter and vocalist lends itself greatly to her versatility of performance. It’s possible to see her hold a captive crowd as a solo artist with nothing more than an acoustic guitar and her signature hilarious stage banter, but it’s also a treat to see her rock a festival stage backed by her band. From her origin as quiet open mic folk singer songwriter to a full blown electro pop sensation, Laryssa is an absolutely stunning performer that rivals any major label act out there.
